There’s only one day left until one the biggest video game expos in Europe kicks off at Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre and we can’t wait any longer. Roll on EGX 2014!
We can’t believe that it has been a year already since our last visit to this massive event. We thoroughly enjoyed the Rezzed 2014 indie event in March and hope to meet up with our developer friends once again. In the days following we’ll bring write-ups of our favourite games and hopefully more interviews with some awesome indie developers. Once again, we have our press passes and will see what we can do to bring you some exclusive content.
While last year was all about the early launch titles of the now current generation of consoles we expect this year’s expo to give us a glimpse at the upcoming titles for the new hardware that’ll really begin to make the most out of the systems. We still haven’t seen much from the next killer titles for each such as Halo for Xbox One or Uncharted 4 for PlayStation 4, but we’re hoping to see some fresh content from these upcoming blockbusters.
EGX London always provides amazing opportunities to get behind the scenes of upcoming games via its developer sessions with this year’s schedule full to the brim with blockbuster gaming goodness. For those gamers that lean more towards the indie scene, the Rezzed area and the Leftfield Collection host some extremely interesting upcoming releases from talented developers; if you’re going be sure to check out Eden Star and Monstrum which are a couple of our favourites.
For the very first time Kim and Phil will be taking part in the expo by volunteering for the awesome charity SpecialEffect by helping out at their stand. If you haven’t yet heard of them, they’re an oganisation dedicated to using technology to enhance the quality of life of people with all kinds of needs including stroke and road traffic accident patients, individuals with life-limiting conditions and injured soldiers returning from overseas. We hope you’ll come by to the stand on Saturday, 27 September 2014 to say hello and also sign up for their GameBlast 2015 event.
We began our event coverage with Ben’s article on five things for EGX yesterday that documents what he is most excited to experience at the expo. If you haven’t yet bought any tickets and have decided you’d like to attend, there are still some available for Thursday (at the time of writing) here but they are running out fast. However, if you’re going to be there Thursday, Friday or Saturday, let us know in the comments below and we’ll hopefully get an opportunity to say hello and discuss video gaming!
